Kuoppis has played drums since the mid 80’s. With a strong background in the Helsinki band scene, he has built a strong professional career as one of the grooviest drummers in Finland. No style turns him off, so he has been busy working for the last 20 years. Kingston Wall, Groove Convention, ZOOK, Von Hertzen Brothers, So-So and Suvanne are groups he has performed and recorded with since the 90’s. Also many Finnish singers (rock,pop,jazz,folk,top40) have found his work charming, so he is playing on two thousand album tracks.

Also you can find his drumming from recordings by Apocalyptica, Stratovarius, Anssi Tikanmäki Orchestra, Rinneradio, Eero Koivistoinen jazz society, and also from various moviescores and commercials.
Kuoppis has performed regularly in many music shows in TV starting in 1992 and he also plays in the theatres.

In 2011 he has concentrated (besides normal family life) in working (creating new music, touring and recording) with great singer/songwriter Samuli Putro, the K Cube Trio (with Kimmo Pohjonen and Timo Kämäräinen) and musicals showing in the Helsinki City Theatre (Wicked, Katri Helena). Also interesting session work and participation in the action of the Finnish Musicians’ Union has been challenging enough for him to find time to concentrate on the main musical interest – make better music and practise new ideas!
